About
Most Valuable Friend

A nonprofit built on one simple belief: every neurodivergent child deserves access to the therapy they need, no matter their family’s budget.

A Community Built on Support and Care

Most Valuable Friend (MVF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting neurodivergent children and their families. We recognize that therapy can be life-changing for kids with speech and language difficulties, developmental delays, autism, ADHD, and other differences, but its high cost puts it out of reach for many families.

Through piano lessons and K-12 tutoring, MVF raises funds to help cover the cost of therapy for children whose families can’t fully afford it, so that more kids can get the support they deserve. And beyond therapy, MVF works to help neurodivergent kids build friendships with other neurodivergent kids, so that every child can feel understood, supported, and less alone.

Why Dylan Started Most Valuable Friend

Hey everyone! I am Dylan, the founder of MVF. Growing up, I watched my older brother, who has speech apraxia, navigate a world that was not always patient or understanding.

He faced two big challenges: making friends was hard for him, and the therapy that helped him so much came at a steep cost. My family was fortunate enough to afford that therapy, and seeing how much it changed his life made me realize how many families are priced out of the same support.

“Seeing his experiences firsthand opened my eyes to how isolating it can feel for kids with autism, ADHD, speech differences, and other neurodivergent experiences.”

I started Most Valuable Friend to change that story. By offering piano lessons and tutoring, we raise funds to help cover the cost of therapy for neurodivergent kids whose families can’t fully afford it, so that no child has to go without the support they need because of money.

How MVF Came to Be

From a personal family experience to a growing nonprofit community in Dallas-Fort Worth.

MVF Timeline

A Brother's Journey

Dylan grew up watching his older brother, diagnosed with speech apraxia, face daily challenges. Making friends was hard, and the therapy that helped him most was expensive. His family could afford it, but Dylan saw that many families couldn't.

😔

A Gap That Needed Filling

Dylan realized that essential therapy was often too expensive for the families who needed it most. He wanted to create a sustainable way to help cover those costs, so no child would miss out on support because of their family's finances.

💡

Most Valuable Friend is Founded

Dylan launched MVF as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The model is simple: offer piano lessons and tutoring, and use the proceeds to fund therapy for neurodivergent kids whose families can't fully afford it.

🌱

A Growing Community

MVF is actively connecting families, schools, and therapists across DFW. Every connection made is a step toward a community where no child has to feel isolated, and where every family knows they are not alone.
